I recently switched from the Card Travel Adapter 4-Pro you’ve been using (I’m the one who turned you on to it!) to the Mogics MA1, specifically the newer MA1-B variant (it works with more EU plugs than the original). It has the same plugs as the Card adapter, but in the smallest possible package you can imagine and weighs only 28g. I then plug a small USB-C GaN power adapter into it. It turns out I only need one USB-C port to charge a handful of devices because I don’t normally need to charge them simultaneously (and if I do, I can pass-through charge some of them), and I’ve switched all my cables to be USB-C at the adapter end.
The total size of the two devices is significantly smaller and lighter than the Card adapter. I think Card and Mogics are the same company, actually.

Back to the full conversationI'm ordering one as well. It's included with thee Mogics Bagel and Donut power strips on Amazon for $49, just $15 more than ordering the adapter alone w/shipping. However, I read that this does NOT convert 220/240vac down to 120vac for US devices. How do you handle that? Do you travel with a separate voltage converter?
Forgot to reply to this. You don't need a converter! Everything I travel with is 120/240 and that's probably also true for anything you travel with.
Hey. No worries.
Yes. 240v is okay for *mostly* everything I travel with. I haven't tried the immersion heater at 240v. But the most important item I need is my Xiomi USB-C-PD charger, that puts out the needed 20V for my older laptop...

This does take the higher voltage. Since everything else I have can charge off this, I'm good with just an plug adapter, not a voltage converter. Thanks.
Hi Tynan,
Enjoying your posts for years - not as minimalist, but close.
You tried nose hair scissors as nail clippers. They double up really well, and never had problem getting through security

Great find! Just ordered one to test out and will give you credit next year if I keep it.
