Sorry for the criticism but… 26000/50 = 520times using uber. 520/40yrs = 13 times/year. You can take a $50 Uber 13 times per year for 40 years of visiting Chicago.

I'd argue the actual cost is about 8% per year of $28000 (opportunity cost), plus parking, so about $4400 a year. That's actually 100 ubers per year, which is even worse than you suggest.
That's 8 a month. I probably take around that many on average, maybe a bit higher or lower. However, there are a lot of places I don't go because it's just not worth the ubers. For example, to go get tea, it adds ~$40 to the cost. If I'm meeting a friend or something that's fine, but I never go solo.
I can also take it on road trips. My wife and I went to a drive-through safari 90 minutes away, which we would have had to rent a car for. I thought about renting a car to go to a convention in Indianapolis, but it was going to be too annoying (plus I'd actually have to do the driving). Next year I'll probably just take the Tesla since it will drive itself and then I have a car when I get there.
I used to be much more frugal and would only spend money on things that were overwhelmingly great values. At some point I realized that I have to eventually spend my money, and some of it can be on things that are worth it to me, and the EV is that I actually get something out of the money vs just hoarding.
Also I'd argue that the $10 for FSD hunter is basically free in the context of buying a car (any seller could raise the price of any car by $10 and it wouldn't change any buying decisions).
