have you tried Copilot in VS Code? I prefer it to claude code for day-to-day coding tasks.

I agree Claude is amazing though... it has helped me solve some obscure coding issues.

But I find for general development tasks, the code it produces is maybe 50-80% what I need, so I need to go in and edit/add to the code after. But I find editing code to be easier than writing it, so that's nice.

But if I can give it incredibly focused tasks that don't require a ton of context, it tends to knock it out of the park.
