Yes, I was sent replacements twice, BUT on the go - a bummer. Would never trust it. Taking into account your frustration with the CIO - might not be the best backup solution. Just saying.

Personally, I opt for Apple woven 1m cable (found out it's, suddenly, the lightest out there) alongside with a couple USBA USBC dongles.

Also, if you don't care about lightning (and ready to carry extra 20-30g) - Universal Nomad Cable is "the reliability". I've used lightning since 2019 or something and it lasted and I was able to sell it. Feels very premium and enjoyable to use.
