In theory I sort of like the idea, but I think it's fun to drop all of the new things I've found once per year. I actually briefly started a site called bestintheland.com years ago that was going to be more constant reviews. I probably have equally strong opinions for home gear, but I haven't figured out the best way to present those recommendations yet.

Back to the full conversationI think it is just as valuable to know about gear people don't like, and why. Maybe just write one article to test the waters.
I would also be interested in items that were a close second, in addition to ones that you didn't like. Also, have you ever thought about just dropping a single review during the year, as sort of a surprise for the gearheads? #moregear

Suggestion: the house-gear posts could be presented room by room with a master post that links to all of the rooms as well as a few items you use in all of them (if you do).
I'd also reeeeally love to see something similar for both linux software on PC, homelab software and services (e.g. cloudflare proxy), and android apps, including if you debloat your phone via ADB, etc. "My software ecosystem" type deal.
