for a backpack upgrade, I recommend checking out the ULA dragonfly 30L or 36L. It's crazy light, but also durable. Thought it might not be suited towards your travel style & needs.

Back to the full conversationI changed from a Minaal Daily that was on its last legs after 4 years of usage to an Ultra Dragonfly 22L (I would never go past 25L) and couldn’t be happier.
The laptop compartment that’s just a separate top zipper saved me so much frustration, when I had the Minaal I would open the zipper just slightly too much and the laptop would hit the ground hard.
The roomier top compartment has also helped me keep more of what I need at hand. It doesn’t have much internal organization, but I like the flexibility that comes with that.
The material feels weird at the beginning, it doesn’t sag as much as the Minaal when empty, but the laptop compartment along with the side stretch pockets made the world of difference for me while in the move.
The Dragonfly 30 is actually just 22l in the main compartment. They count it as 30 cause you can stuff giant water bottles into the side pockets. It might fit your gear perfectly.
r/onebag is all over it

Seems solid, but it's just so ugly and "backpackery". I'm also at 21L now and don't want to go any bigger. Maybe 24L max.
