Maybe it is wishy-washy, but it's still seen by a grand part of a majority as a shit-for-brains thing to do. It's a resting place; a grave, just leave it there. It's what makes the catacombs the catacombs.
If he wanted bones he could get a complete set online or even of just parts that are donated or gotten from medical schools that and whatnot that "retire" donated bodies.
