For an alternative shorts recommendation, I absolutely love the "Mofo" shorts from 3rd Rock, which I happily use for climbing, walking/hiking, swimming, yoga, and casual wear: https://www.3rdrockclothing.com/products/mens-mofo-shorts
For the laptop, I've been eyeing up the X1 Carbon for a bit, but wasn't sure whether running Ubuntu on it would give full functionality (esp. touchscreen, which I'm keen to try). Do you have any insight on that?

Back to the full conversationMy touchscreen works with Arch Linux by default on my X1 Carbon Gen 7 (model 20R10011US). No issues with other input devices, but assembly is sometimes required.
Thank you both for the replies. I was referring specifically to the Carbon, and am pleased to hear one can configure it to have all the desired functionality.
A somewhat related question for Tynan: you don't have a photo of the laptop charger & cable but you got rid of your power bank. I take it that means you now just take the charger & cable in your bag? Do you find it's a hassle in terms of space?

I have the X1 Carbon and it doesn't come with a touchscreen. It's fully functional under Ubuntu. Is there a touchscreen option or do you mean the Yoga?
