I love the idea behind all this, but I've got a question. When you say "buy an island," who are you paying? It's my understanding that most islands for sale are a part of a chain of islands belonging to a certain country. This would mean that you still have to abide by that country's laws. That being said, there are still plenty of options for development, but the whole crime enforcing part might be out of the question.
