For Web Dev PHP is the most simple language and a LAMP setup makes things rather simple. Ruby, though not hard is a little more complex then PHP IMO. I come from an asm and C background myself, that's where it gets hard. If you have only limited coding background I recommend you have an security audit done of your code before you decide to sell it. It will save you tons of time and money in the long run. I used to do it for a living but have moved on.
On another note, Crossfit is the best. I train BJJ and MT and I've never had a better overall conditioning routine in my entire life.
