Yeah, the homeless thing is really offensive. I came from a dysfunctional family, ran away from home and was living on the streets by the time I was 16. In school I was labeled as a "gifted" child due to receiving high grades, but I would credit most of my success toward getting out of that situation as dumb luck. I'm almost finished with my medical degree which was a cake walk compared to what I went through before. Until you've experienced it for yourself (which you obviously haven't) that comment makes you sound like a fucking idiot.
