In Michigan, you can get ticketed for going through a stop sign on private property if the owners of the property have paid the local police to patrol the parking lot. If not, and you ignore the sign and hit someone, you can be ticketed for reckless driving.
And BTW, my Honda owners manual specifies oil changes every 10,000 miles.
