I just had a procedure, similar to PRK called Lasek. Note the e and not i. In this procedure the epithelium is only partially removed and then slipped back into place. Like PRK there is no permanent flap or eye damage. I had terrible vision (worse than 20/200) per surgery. I tested to 20/25 the day after and my vision is get sharper constantly.

I’d like to hear from anyone who is middle aged or older, needs reading glasses and did monovision–also how did this improve your confidence with women ?

Michelle, you have nothing to worry about. 20/20 just refers to how far away you can read text. It has nothing to do with how crisp that vision is. Six days isn’t much at all. It took my friend Todd a couple months before his blurriness was gone.

It took me 2-3 weeks, I think.

Thanks for the info and your blog was very helpful. So the blurriness I’m experiencing is normal for being at almost one week post surgery (6 days)? They actually told me I was 20/20 when I got my protective lens out today, but it does not feel or seem that way at all due to the blurriness. I’m a worry wart as you can probably tell;-)

My eyesight is totally awesome now. It does take a while, though. I’d say a month to a month and a half for it to be perfect.

Bill: Progressive undercorrect. Basically wearing the weakest glasses to see perfectly clearly at all times. Your eyes start to relax and you can wear weaker and weaker pairs. The point is that I used to spend most of my day at the computer, wearing glasses that could focus perfectly at infinity, and were therefore too strong.
