When I was 15 my goal was to get a bachelors degree in English and be a writer.
When I was 16-21 my goal was to not be homeless, or one paycheck away from homeless, ever again. I wanted to have a stable career and save money.
I'm 21 now, and I'm just getting to achieve that goal. I got an education in a trade that doubled my income from last year (1000/month to 2200/month). If I stick with it for another 3-4 years I'll be making 60-70k/year. There are so few young people going into trades that if I stick with it for life and stay frugal I'll have no problems with unemployment and could retire at 40 easily.
When I was homeless that sounded like the most amazing, wonderful thing. Now it seems... nice still, but boring.
Then four days ago I found out that I can claim citizenship in Germany and be a dual citizen thanks to one of my parents being a german citizen when I was born.
