This is me on every level. I wouldn't know how to explain it but you've put it very well Ty.

Epic post Tynan - a lot of these ideas ring true to me, some I have already taken on board, others I have a way to go.
I'm naturally a positive person - but I decided to do the gratitude/hapiness exercise for 30 days for fun... and I can honestly say it has taken me to the next level, and people have noticed the extra spring in my step. I suggest everyone tries it - theres nothing to lose and plenty to gain. Perspective, inner peace, centered-ness, clarity of mind, and extra joy for life.
I've always enjoyed doing the dishes, I find it very therapeutic and the warm soapy water is so nice in the cold winter nights. My approach is slightly different to yours Tynan.
Rather than my mind being present on the doing of the dishes, my body goes into autopilot - disconnecting my mind and I am able to then really focus and meditate on my latest thoughts and ideas.
Protocols, systems, routines... whatever you call them, these are excellent for simplifying your life. The most significant regime I have is my 'diet' - what to eat, when to eat, what to buy, what to avoid, all these things are now done on autopilot for me and it has freed up so much mental energy and time and ensures I'm eating healthy and for as cheap as possible.
