Two New Bloggers on SETT!

I can’t tell you how excited I am to share this news. As some of you may have already noticed, there are two more blogs on SETT, bringing the count to four.

As I’ve mentioned before, I only read about four blogs regularly. One of those is Sebastian Marshall, which is why I’m especially proud to have him switched over to SETT. After myself and DROdio, he’s the third blogger to move to the platform. If you like my stuff, you’ll almost certainly love his stuff, too. My very favorite article of his is this one.

Number four is my good friend, Brian Sharp with Made of Metaphors. You might recognize him from his consistently awesome community contributions and comments here. A bit of trivia– Brian is actually the first friend I ever made. We used to both live in Massachusetts, and we became friends in preschool.

By the way, DROdio (SETT blogger #2) posted an excellent post on Sebastian’s blog, and Sebastian posted an excellent post on his blog, so check those two out.

It’s funny– in the past two weeks each one of us has had a post on the front page of Hacker News. At one point there were over five hundred people visiting SETT per minute, but SETT handled it no sweat– and it’s still running on a single server with a processor from 2006!

These first few bloggers have been chosen very carefully to help refine SETT. I wanted to make sure that the people suggesting features and complaining about issues were all people I respect and trust, because they’ll end up impacting what SETT becomes. DROdio‘s influence can already be seen throughout (for example, he pushed for cross-site promotion). I also owe a huge debt of gratitude to you readers– the way you’ve all used SETT has also had a big impact and has enabled us to build SETT much faster than we could have in a vacuum..

Anyway, I try to avoid turning this blog into the SETT-news-everyday blog, but I wanted to acknowledge the new blogs coming to the platform and share them with you. Please welcome them by visiting their blogs and reading their sweet sweet posts.

I’m back in the US now, but I’m heading to Mexico in a week and then China a couple weeks after that. Photo is of Machu Picchu, which you should definitely go visit at some point in your life. It’s a lot more interesting than I thought it would be.
