Check out my bestselling book on habits, Superhuman by Habit. .
In bed at 4:30, dream, awake at 4:45. I'm totally alert and feeling great. Xbox helped keep me occupied (ironically setting it up took more time than playing), so I'll continue to use that until I am in "The Zone".
Overall I feel great and can't wait to conquer another day. I'm going to be so happy when I go two days in a row without being too sleepy.
so tired, dying, hating this....aaarrrrgh!
This last nap was fine. I woke up feeling as if I didn't sleep at all, not refreshed, but more importantly not groggy! I have plenty of work to do tonight to keep me awake. I plan on just plowing through my homework, and take breaks by cleaning the house and dancing around when I can't focus.
Here comes the night. I still have some studying to do, and feel alert enough to do it.
you know what time it is....6pm. I had a 6 hour gap between naps. bad idea! i woke up all confused and totally disoriented. I would recommend sticking to the schedule as closely as possible. I have lost all concept of a schedule. I keep trying to fit in the naps when I have time. Anyways, manish had to come in and wake me up. I really want to get to the point where I am waking up on my own after hitting REM sleep every time. I heard my alarm, was totally confused, and didn't even step into reality when I was turning it off. I remember turning it off, but it felt like i was watching myself turn it off as i layed in my bed. very strange. Feeling great. Gonna go get some dinner.
Just made it through another nap using my awesome new alarm clock.
I'm feeling fantastic today... not tired at all. The key has been that I have been working all day long. What a great system! It forces me to be productive.
Also, from what I've read it may take 1-2 more weeks until we aren't getting tired at night. I can live with that if I have to. I've also read that working out and general productivity makes it much easier to stay awake at night.
I think this is what makes the night more drowsy...for half the day time naps, I'm not sleepy, so it takes me too long to fall asleep and I don't fall into REM.
I overslept on my earlier nap today. Ty calls and is like "are you sleeping, I'm coming over" I'm like "No, No, I'm always up", not feeling like taking a verbal berating in my fragile state. I think we both knew I was full of shit.
I thought I was done. I had no extra naps last night, and felt good throughout. But I slept right through the alarm this morning. I had turned down the volume on my computer to listen to some music and forgot to turn it back up before the nap. Also, I think I might be associating the wake up song with sleep now that I've had it waking me up 10+ times in 2 days. So now I have a presleep ritual:
1. Check volume
2. Check timer
3. Change the song.
The grapes i'm eating are dirty. I've tried washing them, but the dirt is stuck to the skin. Luckily they're organic, so I'm just asuming that massive character is being built. You know, because I still need more character after SEVEN DAYS OF STAYING AWAKE.
I'm feeling pretty great today. The reason? Projects. Let's start with the only project I've done so far:
PROJECT ULTIMATE ALARM CLOCK
I totally over slept. I hate the morning time. I can never remember anything that happens after my 5 am nap every morning. The time frame from about 5 am till 10 am becomes a total blur. I slept on the sofa. I have no idea what time I woke up or went to sleep. i think that i slept for about 2 hours. No more of that. Just unacceptable. I commit to proper training of my body. If I am going to do this, I'm gonna do it right. Every time that I am seated and begin to feel slightly sleepy, I am going to start dancing around like a monkey.....a delerious monkey. This will totally match how I feel at the moment. Ha ha.
Wake up ritual to be implemented:
Walk Around Outside
