Check out my bestselling book on habits, Superhuman by Habit. .
That's right. I am taking a summer off from blogging, and I plan on working on some new projects. I didn't like the direction that my blog was taking, so I am going to take a step back and reevaluate.
Most importantly, I am enjoying my time away from the computer. Wordpress, gmail, and twitter can take over your life. Blogging is a horrible way to make a living, and I want to focus more on book publishing/product design.
It also gets as hot as hell in NYC in the summer, so I need some outside time and less computer time.
Tynan talks about living life at extremes and explains very well why he does so and how he (or anyone that lives life in a similar way) benefits from it in this article http://tynan.com/going-extreme
Even after reading the article though, the benefits are not always obvious when it's your life, and even when they are, what one gives up in the form of comfort with what's familiar to them, or with what's expected of them by their peers makes it a heck of a lot harder than Ty makes it seem.
BUT, If you're all in on this mindset and want to wrap your head around it as a complete lifestyle, I want to help with an aspect of with this post.
Hey, look at that alliteration.
Writing this here in the community section because I think it's a bit too similar to my other pickup posts recently, and a lot of people don't care about pickup posts. Still, I wanted to write something about it, since you might be wondering what happened with pickup.
My original plan was to do pickup for one month, which I thought would be enough to restore me to my former glory. It wasn't, so I felt obligated to keep going. After six or seven weeks total (I forget exactly when I stopped), I realized that I wasn't close to getting back to where I wanted to be. Tyler from Real Social Dynamics estimated that I had another three months to go, which was my estimate, too.
So, who has some good business ideas? Real estate? Blogs? Oil? I'm open to all idea's.
Currently almost finished with my first book, should be ready this summer on amazon. Was looking at some real estate in seaside heights, NJ and Delaware etc.
Anyone want to rent out an R.V.? I could arrange that in NYC pretty easy.
Tynan, did you really live with Courtney Love? Any pictures? I've been listening to a lot of Smashing Pumpkins recently, and I read that Billy Corgan used to date her.
Comment: I still think you should put "ads" on SETT. You are leaving money at the table my friend....possibly big money.
Paging Tynan! Looks like the potential for a hilarious story here... Only $790 a month!
Im running with the Sony Nex setup recommended by Tynan. Now it seems all camera bag solutions are either very poor quality or a bad fit for travel (too big for various reasons). Now this goes out to everyone that owns a 4/3 mirorless camera: Which bag did you choose? In short it should look awesome, fit the camera with attached lens and provide reasonable protection.
Hey Tynan, are you going to speak at the 21 Convention this year?
Men: tomorrow is one of the best "pickup" days of the year. So lets put down the laptop, hide the violin, and hold the conversations about solar power to Sunday. Unless you have solar powered condoms.
Tomorrow is Cinco de mayo AND the Kentucky derby. That means millions of women across the country will be downing corona's and removing clothes for beads. I am personally going to a race track in Queens, NY tomorrow to bet the races, then I am heading to an outdoor beer garden that is having a party.
My roommate is trying to get his ex-girlfriend jealous so we will shoot tons of pictures with drunk women. I will try to post some good ones on Sunday. Just saying, I'm sure Mystery is out somewhere tomorrow and you should be too.
I love wearing shorts. I want a comfortable pair that I can lounge in, sleep, walk, hike, etc. Also, it must have a few regular pockets that I can fit a phone, keys, wallet, etc.
Everything I've seen online is underwear tights, or for running (which have inadequate pockets, such as Icebreaker) .
Does anyone know of any everyday wool shorts?
