I need some Texas advice...

I plan on flying into Texas around St Patricks day in March, and eventually driving down to South Padre.  What city do you guys recommend? Dallas, Houston, or San Antonio?

Thanks,

Captain P

Austin...
Houston is a concrete hell, hot and dangerous (but you can easily race down the highways at high speed).
San Antonio is a kind or dry and rocky and full of Mexican culture.
Dallas to me was a fancier and cleaner Houston, but still flat and boring.

Austin is a very green and hilly and I best described it as a "land of fertility" with fine honeys to be scooped up everywhere.  Lots of parks, arts, shows, clubs, food, outdoor sports, dog-friendly, swimming holes, and more fine bitches.  The only downside that comes to mind is the sometimes-slow traffic, especially on I-35 near downtown.  I'm not sure where I'll be working at that time, but Austin has been my home-base this year so hit me up!

Yup, Austin is the place, Dallas is nice as well, other than these two, nothing else is worth mentioning. I've lived all over Texas...

Thanks guys, my only problem with Austin is that I heard a lot of transplants moved there....similar to whats gng on where I live in brooklyn......Almost everyone is telling me to try Dallas, so I might fly into Dallas/ft worth.  I'll keep you updated.

Sure, we have a few ex-Californians... what's Brooklyn's transplant problem like?  Hope you find what you're seeking in Dallas :)

Not that it is a problem per se, defiantely very good for the local economy, but in the last 5 years Brooklyn has become the "hot spot"....Sort of like Seattle in the 1990's.  There are certain parts of Brooklyn where almost 90% of the people aren't from Brooklyn originally, ex: williamsburg, carroll gardens, etc etc.  If I go to Texas I want to see cowboys, steers, and eat BBQ....lol
