Any tips on how to make the plane riding experience more enjoyable?
I fly all the time, I seem to cross the ocean on 14 hour flights 7 or 8 times per year. I usually read until my tablets battery dies, then I scroll through the available movies and watch something that is just good enough that I was curious when the trailers came out, but just bad enough that I would never watch it in any other situation. I've actually ended up watching a lot of films I would otherwise never watch. Last time it was Robocop, before that it was Prometheus.its amazing how long I can spend just looking out the window. I love to look down at the clouds and contemplate how crazy it is that I am shooting across the sky in a metal tube and I can actually see the TOPS of clouds. I often imagine its a whole nother world. I love to look at the land and people and the buildings while they last, If you are flying across the atlantic ocean, there is a good chance they wil route ofver Greenland, which includes some icebergs, so that is interesting too.
I actually really like teh food on long flights. I don'te get why people complain about it, I find it cool that every item has its own little compartment.
Sleep is possible if you have the window seat, just lean the pillow agains the wall. You have to be pretty tired to do it, but it works. And then I often lke to write a little something on my laptop, especially if this trip is the beginning of some great change in my life, like leaving behind the old place I lived in favor of some place new. Hope that helps.
Not as long as yours, but I just had a 9hr flight...spend it via watching (1) 2hr new release movie, talk to people a bit, some exercises on Duolingo app, take my ipod and listen to some music and try to sleep the rest. Maybe read an article or two that I left open in my browser before disconnecting from airport wifi, but no more. I get nauseated when I try to read too much in moving transportation.
For overseas flight, I used to spend my time reading but someone told me that it's better to take one of those low dose motion sickness pill. I tried it during a long haul flight (Asia to Canada) and I slept real fine.
