Do you still use one Tynan?
What are your guys' thoughts on city mobility in general? Bike, board, segway?
I have a Metro Board. I really like it but it's a bit heavier. However, it isn't easy to ride in LA because the streets and sidewalks are worse than Third World quality. You really have to watch where you're going when you're 10+ mph unless you don't mind curb sandwiches. :)
I don't have the Stowboard, but I think I like it better for me. The Stowboard is about 6lbs and it folds up really small, so you could take it in your carry on bag in a plane along with your other stuff. I think it would be great for flying from city to city, and also for locking up (see vid on their page). It is also 1/10th the price of this new board, but it is non-electric. There are some disadvantages to electric boards, which include weight and size, but also clear advantages. I think a deciding factor for most people would be the amount of hills where you plan to board. This one at Kickstarter looks superior for stopping downhill and for going uphill.
Beat me to it! Here's the actual Kickstarter link: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/170315130/boosted-boards-the-worlds-lightest-electric-vehicl
Funny, I was expecting a competitor to Tesla when I clicked on the link.
Ditto - looks flippin sweet! I don't like the range (around 6 miles) but the range/weight ratio is nasty! Also would like to see better wheels available. I currently ride the metroboard shortboard http://www.metro-board.com/low_cost_electric_skateboard_buynow.htm#Shortboard_Description
