New "Gear" Post?/Tom Bihn Synapse Backpack?

Hey, Tynan:

Since you've wiped out your old blog posts and I can't seem to find your gear posts, will you be writing a new one soon? Right now, I'm just wondering if you're still happiest with the Tom Bihn Synapse backpack, because I need to get a new one soon.

Thanks!

The posts are all still there. Just search at the top. I think I had some shortcuts to the posts that don't work anymore.

I will be writing a new post soon, but I don't have a date on it. Still loving the Synapse and recommending it to everyone.

Yeah, the first thing I tried was the /gear and /gear2011 links I vaguely remembered. Searching for "gear" or "gear 2011" in the top search bar doesn't narrow down the number of articles at all, sadly. I still seem to get every single one.

Searching "site:tynan.com gear" in Google worked fine for now, though!

Tynan.net

So, here we are. With a couple hours to go before I'm stuck on a boat with spotty and expensive internet, I've moved everything over to Tynan.net.

This site will be a combination of Better Than Your Boyfriend, Life Nomadic, and even Best in the Land. The posts for these blogs have been imported, and those sites will soon all redirect here.

The forums are still on the old domain, but they have the new look and will be integrated soon enough.

Not Following Through

There's been a lot of chatter on the comments recently about me not following through, most of it deserved. Throughout my life one of my struggles has been to focus on one thing and follow it through. I used to be totally incapable of it, but over the years have gotten better. There are a lot of things that I have followed through with (my diet, writing this blog, etc.) as well as plenty that I haven't.

Once in a while I feel, for whatever reason, that I've conquered it, and I announce it to the world. While I'm on the topic of admitting faults, another is that I tend to prematurely announce things sometimes. As a reader, you already know that.

I understand your frustration when you read about something I say I'm going to do, get excited about seeing it happen, and then it falls off the radar. If it's any consolation, I'm acutely aware of these things and am similarly frustrated.
